Penis Puppeteers Wanted

TORONTO (CP) -- The creators of Puppetry of the Penis will be holding auditions next week for a new band of penis puppeteers.

Simon Morley and David Friend said Wednesday they've had "overwhelming requests to tour worldwide." So they are now looking for more like-minded men who possess a unique combination of natural talent and a complete lack of shame to help satisfy the world's thirst for the show.

The idea is to expand and franchise Puppetry of the Penis in a similar fashion to Tap Dogs, also from Australia, and Stomp.

The original puppeteers are playing to sold-out houses in Toronto, a second company played to standing-room audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a third company is touring Australia for the third time.

The producer, Ross Mollison Productions, and the artists are asking that penis puppeteers come to the auditions next Wednesday at the New Yorker Theatre with a flexible working attitude and be ready to demonstrate their own genital installations. The auditions are open to both circumcised and uncircumcised genital origami hopefuls.
